About the event

The day will begin with meeting your guide Dan, near Angle. Once the introductions are out of the way, you will start by exploring the coastal hedgerows in search of fresh plant-based ingredients and aromatic wild spices. From the hedgerows you will head down to access the sand shores and rocky tide pools, in search of a wide variety of marine life and seaweeds, where we will look at them from both a culinary and scientific perspective depending on the species. Once you have explored the beach, you will head over to a second location nearby to discover some of our favourite tidal Saltmarsh species.

You will cover the following topics:
Wild Edibles, Inedible & Deadibles - Identification Tips
Sustainable Foraging - Habitat Identification - The Law & Foraging
Culinary & Medicinal Uses - History & Folklore
